OH MY GOODNESS. Last night was amazing! Makes me wish all of our friends could be here to experience the craziness of this place!!
We started out to dinner in SoHo at a place called Jaspas! Some more toy industry people were in town so we were out for quiiiiite some time :P after a long dinner full of lots of drinks and great food we walked down the street to the bar that's right next to the longest escalator in the world! So cool!..(Sara I sent you the video...and I apologize for all of the videos I sent..hahah) I still think it's weird that you can drink in the street..and it's normal..the laws here are different, mainly because it feels like there is none? Yet the crime rate is dropping and that makes me feel really safe :)
After the first bar we walked down the street to watch a girl get her foot ran over by a cab..pretty exciting! haha, walking here is pretty different too. They do not yield to peds (kelbel when you visit PLEASE remember this!! lol) You have to constantly pay attention and know your surroundings so that you don't accidentally walk into the street when cars are coming..because they do not stop and they drive REALLY fast! You would think they're about to hit you they get so close..but they think nothing of it? strange. Anyways, the girl who got ran over was totally fine..except her foot was crushed..but other than that toootally fine ;)
We ran into one of Eric's comanagers, Josh (the one from London), and his girlfriend. She immediately pulled me inside to buy me a drink..and Eric n I didn't think we were going to drink too much..geez every block is a different party in LKF! It's crazy..but we're getting older and with age comes....exhaustion. Luckily after we met up with Eric's coworker, we stayed out for a little while longer, but we were getting so tired. We went to a place that was specified as a "shot bar"..so they only sold shots..dangerous..luckily they were like mixed drink shots and when you order you get a plate of 9 of them at a time. geez people here love to party.
We walked around for a little while longer, stopping by certain bars and watching dance battles in the street (they happen every block). It's weird though, because to get into the special clubs, Pete had to show his business card to the bouncer to show his job title....I don't get it..I also don't get how I haven't been carded once since I've gotten here? There's nobody checking ID's outside the clubs or the bars, no waitress or waiter asks to see your ID when you order drinks..gosh it's just Different. But pretty awesome!
After the bars we went home in a cab (the MTR stops running at 1am), got home about 3am and then went to work this morning at 10..UGH.
Out to dinner again tonight with Pete and my coworkers while Eric's working the closing shift (4pm-1am..yikes)

ReplyDelete- TOTALLY REMINDS ME OF NEW ORLEANS! However, not the whole crime-rate dropping part.
Sounds like you guys are having so much fun!
