Went shopping last night for the first time..I know, I'm amazed with myself that I lasted this long without spending money on clothes..Even when the clothes are SO tempting. ugh. Every store is amazing and there's a mall on every block, no joke.
Went to a place that I can't pronounce and just got a shirt and I was only in there for about 15 mins so Eric was really happy with me :) The way they do shopping in Hong Kong is so smart, they only put out one size of each item of clothing, if you want a different size you have to ask..but most shirts come in a size called "free" which basically means "one size fits most". The shirts that are "free" sized are usually pretty flowy or baggy shirts to begin with. If you try on a free sized shirt and you ended up wanting to buy it, they grab you a new one from the back and keep the "try on" specific shirt out on the floor..again, SO smart. They brought me out my shirt while it was still in a plastic bag, opened it up for me and asked me if I wanted to try it on again to make sure it fit. I was amazed. This helps so much! You don't end up buying a shirt with deodorant marks or make up stains. seriously so nice :)
Ended the night checking out some bars with one of Eric's coworkers. They have a place here called Carnegies and it's in downtown WanChai...it's basically a smaller, cooler Dixie where everyone (boys and girls) can dance on the bar. We'll be taking quite a few of our friends there when they visit ;) :P
Went Apartment hunting today!!..That will be in a different post with LOTS of pics :)
As for tonight, we're layin low..enjoying our last week in a serviced apartment!

The Peak :)
The Funrise Toy party was pretty amazing! It was held in Wan Chai at a bar called "Spicy Fingers" and consisted of free drinks and appetizers! The live band was also quite impressive (Mom I sent you a few videos!) They were playing such great songs, we couldn't help but stand right in front and listen...while everyone else was enjoying their drinks out on the street (the party got so large that the bar couldn't hold everyone). We ended up getting a tour of Wan Chai by one of my old coworkers who now works for HogWild Toys. He explained that Wan Chai can be a very "dark" area of Hong Kong..I didn't really know what he meant by that, until he took Eric and I into one of the clubs. It was a hooker club.........hahaha. WOW. A bunch of old white men with young asian women..EXTREMELY interesting, but very uncomfortable. Geez. Anyways, that "tour" ended pretty quick..mainly because we got the idea and wanted to get out of there. We ended the night at Ebeneezers, a little fast food place on the side of a random street..but then again basically EVERY place to eat is on the side of a random street. ;) :P Ebeneezers serves these little burrito typa things. I got spicy lamb and it was SUCH a great way to end the night! We got back around 1am to our place and fell asleep immediately. So exhausted.
Eric and I went to The Peak yesterday :) it's the highest part of Hong Kong Island and you can see 360 degree views! SO beautiful, not to mention we went on a perfect day; sunny, clear and 70. We were planning on going to the Buddha and Po Lin monastery when we woke up..but around 11am we realized it takes 2 hours just to get there! Sooo plans changed and we decided The Peak instead because it only takes like 30 mins. The pictures we got were unreal..couldn't be happier with our decision!! But geez, it's making it hard being here by ourselves, we want to share all these experiences with all of our family and friends..so c'mon people!! come visit us!! we have so many fun things planned already! :D
After we got back from The Peak we rushed to grab drinks with Joe Morelli! (For those of you who don't know, Joe is our friend Michael's dad). Joe was in Hong Kong for business, so it worked out pretty well! We met him and a chairman and a vice chairman..I think? (Joe don't be offended if you're reading this! I forgot their job titles :/..) at the Intercontinental Hotel which overlooks Hong Kong Island. It was absolutely amaaaazing!! We had a few drinks and these delicious burgers, then at 8pm we got to watch the lazer light show that goes on from the buildings in Hong Kong. Seriously, we've been so spoiled here!! Next thing we know it's 12:30am and we're having drinks with the bar singer, Lindsay, who is from Portland, Maine! She's on contract with the hotel for a few months and was a complete sweetheart, with a beeeeautiful voice :) It turned out to be such an amazing evening with such great company! Joe comes back end of February, so we're hoping to all get together again! We had so much fun!

Today, on the other hand, was a lot of work..and no play. no play at all. Woke up and went to work at 9:30am (which is pretty nice)..ended up not getting my lunch break until 4:30pm because a bunch of last minute projects came up..then I didn't get off work at 8:30pm. UGHHH. but, seriously, at least I don't have friends here ;) I actually enjoy working the longer hours. I feel like I'm getting so much done!..even though realistically work just keeps piling up...haha
